Junior Systems Administrator

AVMATS is currently seeking a motivated and driven team member to join our IT Support Team. Position duties include monitoring, maintaining, and improving on-premises company information systems and SAS platforms. This is a hands-on role offers a wide variety of challenging tasks and learning opportunities. The ideal candidate is technically proficient in basic Linux and Windows systems administration and ready to take on new challenges.

Work Environment: This is a full-time in-person role requiring local travel and occasional evening and weekend hours as job duties demand. Candidates must have reliable transportation and the ability to drive to office locations in Chesterfield and O'Fallon Missouri.

Essential Functions:

• IT helpdesk support to local and remote users, helping resolve technical issues quickly and professionally.

• Create and update training materials and IT documentation.

• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access through Active Directory and related tools.

• Support installation and maintenance of network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless devices, ethernet, and fiber networking lines).

• Update training materials and IT documentation.

• Management of server backups, recovery procedures, and routine maintenance tasks.

• Asset acquisition and life cycle tracking

• Hardware maintenance and support (Workstations, servers, UPS's, switches, phones, printers, upc scanners)

• Participate in infrastructure upgrades and patching

Requirements:

• Basic understanding of: Windows Servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, Linux Servers, Virtualization, RAID disk storage, Networking, Scripting Languages, Orchestration Tools

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience real world experience.

• 1-3 years of relevant experience in systems or network support

• 1-5 years of work experience in an IT help desk role

• Strong customer service mindset and communication skills.

• Reliable, punctual, and a team player.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds

• Ability to crawl, stoop, or squat to install computer equipment
